One Summer Night | #AtoZ Blogging Challenge 2023

This post is part of the #AtoZ April Blogging Challenge. It’s my second time and this year I’m going with micro-poetry—it’s a form that I’m going to be exploring through April and hopefully, beyond. My focus here is to play upon the myriad moods and emotions of life through these varying short forms.

Today’s post stands for the letter ‘S’ and is titled:

One Summer Night

So, this is a free verse and one that I had written many years ago. I thought this was best for the prompt for today. Would love to hear what you think of it. So, do share your thoughts/feedback below.

As always thank you for stopping by and showering this blog with your love and support through the challenge and beyond! Deep heartfelt gratitude and love to each one of you stopping by to read this post.

  1. Lovely! Such nostalgia in those words, Esha! If I sit down to think about it, I am sure I will come up with quite a few such beautiful memories that will make me want to go back to the past and experience them once more. But, would we want to relive such memories? What if they lose their magic?

  2. A bench on a beach! This caught my imagination because I have never been to a beach that has got a bench to sit upon and dangle my feet to and fro. The nostalgia in the poem brings a song to my mind – zindagi bhar nahin bhoolenge wo barsat ki raat. It seems no one has ever written a song on Indian summer.

  3. Lovely. For me summertime means vacations. Times I spent at my grandparents home in childhood when I used to sleep with them on the terrace at night or the trips I made with my friends during my teens and we doesn’t entire nights awake chatting, giggling . The family trips now where we all sit together at night and have a glass of wine , eat food, sing .
