My Sky Of Many Colours #SkywatchFriday

The many hues of my sunset sky!

Your best life will not be found in comfort. It will be found in fighting for what you believe in.

—Maxime Lagacé

It’s been nearly three months since my last post for #skywatchFriday.

While the world has eased back into normalcy after what seemed like a very long time, life has got busy again. The teen is now back to offline school and the husband is working out of his office at least twice a week. It’s such a welcome relief to have some space to myself to do my things, especially after the two years of the pandemic, when it seemed we’d be stepping on each other’s toes most of the time!

The two senior members at home—my mom and mom-in-law do chip in from time to time, ready to offer a helping hand, despite their own frail health and plenty of limitations, while I continue to juggle between housework, school runs, caring duties and my work projects. The good days are interspersed with challenging ones due to the unique health challenges of the family members ranging between 18 and 80, which often throws our lives into a tizzy every now and then.

Life goes on. The husband and I do the best we can, straddling the twin worlds of the personal and the professional, creating the safe space we need to retain our calm and find our balance in the quiet everyday moments.

With the pace of every day life picking up once again, it has become increasingly important for me to prioritise self-care and me-time, reminding myself to give that much-needed push to get out of the comfort zone—to be more. Or perhaps, I should say, to be a better version of myself every day.

I must confess when the challenges in life took over, I almost stopped my art practice and clicking random photos on the go. When I chanced to go through my Insta feed recently, I realised how rare my sky clicks have come to be. Now that the early mornings have made a comeback, once more I’m back to soaking in my morning quiet. So, I’d really love to be back to posting my sky clicks more often. Well, hopefully! 🙂

A big hello to everyone who’s stopping by the blog today. How was your week? How have things been for you lately? If you are posting for #skywatchfriday, do leave your post links in the comments below, so I can visit you back.

That’s it for now. See you next Friday.

Meanwhile, wishing you all a blessed weekend.

Much love to you!

    1. Thank you so much, Damyanti. So glad to see you stopping by this space and share your thoughts. <3

  1. One of the prettier skies I’ve seen in a while! It’s sounds like you have an extremely busy household. Hope to see more of your beautiful skies in the future!

    1. Busy is the word, Peter! Indeed, a lot is going on in our household with members spanning three generations. The mindful skywatching moments are my favourite stress-busters and bring me the much-needed quiet amid the busy-ness!

Thank you for stopping by the blog this week, Peter. Hope things are going well at your end.
      Cheers

    1. Interesting you say that! I guess its’ the ochre-orange combo of an overcast sky that gives it that other-worldly aura. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by the blog this week and sharing your thoughts.

Hope you’re having a good week and all is well with you.
      Happy Skywatching!

  2. A great post, glad you are back. Your words spoke to me. In the last three years my brother, a marathon runner, got sick and is now in assisted living using a wheel chair. My 81 year old MIL got Covid in January and is just now back to her old self, but not quite and we have had a few other issues.
You are right, self care is necessary in order to survive.

    1. Sorry to hear of what you and your family has been through, Alan. I can completely relate to it. The post-Covid times have been nothing short of challenging for everyone all across the world, especially the vulnerable and the elderly. Both mums in my family have been through Covid and I can see how much they are struggling to cope with the after-effects even after a year has passed since they fell ill.

From what I’ve seen, the challenges will never cease. So, we really need to take very good care of ourselves and be in combat mode.

Wishing you an easy week, Alan. Do take care.
      Happy Skywatching!
