A Tree Lover’s Paradise | Thursday Tree Love 2024 #3

Nestled amid the rustic charms of Malnad, lies Rosetta By Ferns—a beautiful resort, which could aptly be termed a tree lover’s paradise. Recently, we got the opportunity to spend a day in the heart of nature in this beautiful resort which is roughly a three-hour drive away from Bangalore.

It was a welcome break from the routine and a much-needed respite from the challenges that we’ve been facing for a while now.

The resort lies in the heart of a coffee plantation, with towering trees as tall as nearly seven to eight floors in height. It is surrounded by lush green, most part of it well maintained and rather spacious with all the modern amenities that one could ask for.

Having left behind the hectic pace and madness of the city life, we were all too eager to embrace the slow life. Spending time in nature offers one the time to introspect and reflect on many a thing and as we walked, our conversation led us to question the many things that rule our lives currently which sadly enough, also sap so much of our energy and we pondered over how we could change the course of things to come.

As part of a plantation walking tour, where we were led by a guide—and it was with childlike glee that we walked on dried crunchy leaves, we learnt all about the varieties of coffee plants and got to sample a multitude of spices that are grown in the resort.

In the midst of the verdant green we also found a beautiful chapel, camouflaged by trees from all sides. We stepped into this absolutely gorgeous chapel and prayed there, our hearts filled with awe at the splendour of mother nature, made even more surreal by the views of trees and the morning sunshine filtering through the glass.

Waking up to bird calls and getting to indulge our senses was the best part of our stay. The quietness of the morning enveloped us in stillness and peace.

It was magical—so divine, surreal and peaceful!

To be honest, we could have stayed longer, since one day wasn’t simply enough for me. We both were grateful beyond words for having this opportunity to de-stress ourselves and enjoy some quiet moments before our busy lives caught up with us again.

Our stay was short but sweet and and one that we would highly recommend to anyone who is a nature lover.

  1. Such a calming place, Esha! Far away from the madding crowd! I think Thomas Hardy wrote the book at a similar place, hai na? Wish you could get more time away from all the chaos and write to your heart’s content. Maybe you, too, could end up writing a book amidst such peace and tranquility.

  2. This is beautiful. There’s something calming about tall trees. That chapel reminded me of school. We’d often go there, specially during exams. I don’t exactly remember praying but I do remember very well that I loved the absolute quiet and the sense of peace. Glad you could take this break Esha.

    1. Thank you, Tulika. The break was much needed. It was definitely serene and comforting to be there amidst the trees. In fact, after we returned, every morning for the next few days, I used to wake up recalling the sight of those towering trees outside the window.
Glad this nudged your memories from the school days. You know, we too had a small chapel in our school, where we often prayed. I always felt very happy sitting there, admiring the decor and the stained glass windows!!! 🙂

    1. It was, indeed, Vinitha! Nature is always so calming and peaceful. Glad you liked the pictures. I imagine that anyone who loves nature would be smitten by the views and the landscape of the place.

  3. What a gorgeous property! I think I have heard of this place and your pictures tell me how lovely the time here would have been. Thanks for joining! i am late but not going to miss posting 🙂

    1. Absolutely, Parul! It’s almost a 100-acre property, if I’m not mistaken and quite well kept. The food there wasn’t great though, but mother nature is in her prime there, so we had a great time. We found it peaceful and enjoyed our downtime, at a time when we needed a break the most! So, all in all, truly grateful! I went ahead and published my post knowing that yours was almost ready to be published anytime. Thanks for hosting Thursday Tree Love, Parul! So lovely being a part of this edition.
