Skyshots Captured on the Way From Tbilisi to Kazbegi | #SkywatchFriday

Hello fellow sky lovers! How have you all been?

It’s been a while since I last posted for #SkywatchFriday! The last few months have been utterly crazy at work especially in the build up to the Design Festival cum Annual Conference that we hosted in end-September/early October this year which took a huge toll on all of us working as part of the core team. While the outcome far exceeded our expectations and made us euphoric/grateful and happy by turns, the exhaustion was real and it took me a nothing short of a fortnight to shift from being unwell to slowly resuming the normal pace of life again, one day at a time.

While weekly blogging remains a wish, I know, I can slowly ease back into a writing routine and right now, time is of the essence!

When I think of resuming my weekly blogging schedule with a sky photo post, for some reason, it doesn’t feel daunting at all, which is why I’m back today, sharing some of my travel pics with you.

As I glance through the gallery, I feel as if I’m back to beautiful Georgia, once again – the trip we took in June this year comes back in flashes and jogs my memory as I recount the road trip along the Georgian Military Highway—considered and rightfully, so, one of the most beautiful mountain roads in the world. Despite the ominous sounding name of the road, there are indeed plenty of wonderful highlights on this route that we took from the capital city of Tbilisi to Kazbegi, driving all the way up through the beautiful snow-clad Caucasus Mountains.

A travelogue will follow soon, but right now, I’m happy to share a few sky photos to show you, dear readers, the gorgeous landscapes of the place that I’ve been describing about.

Hope you will enjoy these skyscapes as much as I did and share your thoughts in the comments below.

As we drove along the bends and the turns, mesmerized by the magic of the landscapes that we crossed, we felt puny and small—like really insignificant beings that paled in comparison to the massiveness of the towering mountains!

When we get in such proximity to Mother Nature, we realize how most of our existence is about shielding us from the natural world. And yet, we are nothing but organisms on this green Earth—creatures who feed off its’ bounties, humbled by its power with every storm!

We tend to forget that our very existence is based on Mother Nature’s whims. It is so easy to forget that we’re part of the boundless, infinitely powerful natural world, even though we live in insulated homes where we wake up with the blinds down.

So paradoxical and yet so very true, isn’t it? I feel every time I leave the safe harbour and travel, I come back a little thoughtful and a little more grateful…

It’s time to sign off now—with a promise to be back next week, and bring you more sky pictures and maybe, a story as well—who knows?!

Let me know your thoughts on the photos and if you’ve ever visited Georgia I’d love to hear some of your travel stories too!

Until next time, goodbye! Wishing you a blessed weekend. If you’re visiting the blog today, I’m very thankful that you decided to stop by! Do share your post links too, so I may visit you back too.

Love, hugs and tons of happy vibes, dear readers!

  1. Gorgeous shots. I can only imagine how breathtaking this drive must have been. To be so close to nature and enjoying time away from the daily routine. I feel like as I am growing older, I want to be closer to nature, it heals things I wasn’t aware was broken.
I look forward to your travelogue 😄

    1. Thank you! So glad to hear you enjoyed these pictures! The reason I love travelling is to bring back awe-inspiring sights and images to share with everyone on the blog especially, my fellow sky-lovers in the SkywatchFriday community!! 🙂

    1. Thank you for the appreciation, Penelope! You’re right – It’s so sad to see what we humans are doing to Mother Nature. Totally misguided and callous, aren’t we?

  2. Gorgeous clicks, Esha. I’m so glad to know that you had a mesmerizing time in Georgia. Some places stay with us long after the trip, don’t they?

    1. Thank you, Vinitha! You’re so right…we often move on after a trip, ready to get back to the routine, but it’s always there somewhere deep within, to bring back fond memories later when we revisit those moments later again. I’m planning a post on this sometime soon.
