Of Spectacular Sunsets #Skywatch

Hello folks! Another Friday and time for Skywatching from my part of the world. Well, this week, I bring you skyshots from a little further down from where I live.

To be precise, 5214.33 km or 3240 miles, which is the average travel distance between Singapore and Bangalore. They say, if you could walk at the speed of 3mph (4.8kph), it would take 33 days 17 hours. I’m not that adventurous yet, so yes, we settled for s flight instead. The flying time was 4.5 hours so, it didn’t feel very far from home either, and yet, the two cities seemed worlds apart! More on that in my forthcoming posts.

Today, I’m sharing two images from the trip that you will love, enough to inspire you to visit the place someday soon.

The first two shots of the skyline were taken on Day one of our trip, just after our visit to the Art Museum and the Asian Civilizations Museum, in the vicinity and then, as our good friend had wisely suggested, we had decided to end it with a stroll along Clarks Quay, which is quite a popular spot with the tourists. The view of the setting sun against the towering office blocks on the other side of the quay, made it  so striking that I couldn’t resist leaving my steaming cup of tea (about which I have to share something very interesting next time) behind and capture a few random shots on the phone. Now, looking back, I think I’d have regretted dearly if I hadn’t. Anyway, here they are. What do you think of these pictures? Have you been here before? Would love to know what you thought of this place.

The next, of course, is a classic postcard shot of the city taken on Day five, just before we ended our memorable trip.

As twilight tiptoed over the city skyline, on a warm October evening, that residents say, was rather unusual for the time of the year, darkness began to slowly unwrap her cloak and spread it all around. But, the twinkling lights from the towers lit up against a vibrant sky, and heightened the beauty of the sky manifold, as we watched from the 57th-floor viewing deck, of the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel in the heart of Singapore, albeit speechless with the aura of beauty everywhere!

What you see from up there, is quite a spectacular sight—a stunning sky with a spellbinding cityscape, leaving one with an experience to cherish for a lifetime!

What do you think of my sky shots this week? Are you joining in with your captures too? If you do, do not forget to leave your link behind so I can visit you.

  1. I liked all three pictures, but the skyline was my favorite, maybe because I am a native of New York City living in a small city that has nothing that looks like that. I’ve never been to Asia but would very much like to visit Singapore.

    1. Thank you Alana! Yes, I can understand your reasons! If you’re keen, I’d say a couple of days in Singapore might be a great idea to relax. There’s so much to see around or chill whichever you’d prefer! A must-visit place really!

    1. Oh, really, Natasha? I can imagine if I could fall in love in just 5 days, how it must have been with you, after staying for that long! Very beautiful country, and what a beautiful place to live in! Thanks for stopping by the blog, dear! 🙂

  2. Wow is all I can say. I spent the whole of November in 2015 in Singapore and still didn’t make it to the MSB!!! I have to go there now especially seeing your spectacular view from the top

    1. Sorry, the post went out by mistake before I could put in the other images and complete the write-up. Do check out the post once again, whenever time permits. Good Day ahead. 🙂
