In the Shadows of the Heart
In the shadows of the heart, sadness dwells,
A silent visitor, whose dirge often tells.
A veil of melancholy covers the eyes,
Like a torrent of sorrow that falls from the skies.
It gnaws within, like a howling wind,
Embracing the soul, where pain has thinned.
With heavy steps, it trods the lengthy miles,
Leaving footprints of anguish in its trails.
Almost like a symphony of muted hues,
Painting the canvas of emotions, it imbues.
Sadness, a palette of grays and somber graces,
Aching heartstrings and gaping empty spaces.
But in sadness, you see, a paradox resides,
For within its depths, growth abides.
It leads the path to reflection's door,
Where wisdom is nurtured, deep at the core.
And through those tears, a release is found,
Like healing balm on wounds profound.
In the grip of pain, compassion is born,
Empathy, kindness, forever sworn.
So, let the tears roll like a gentle stream,
Let go the burden, let sadness redeem.
For in its embrace, a chance to renew,
To rise from the ashes and embrace life anew.
As the glowing sun filters through clouds above,
Sadness becomes my teacher, reminds me to love—
'Remember, only through the depths of pain and sorrow
you will find the strength to face a new tomorrow.'
