A memorable Evening By the Lake Vembanad | #ThursdayTreeLove 2023 – 7

“Trees are our closest relatives. What trees exhale, we inhale; what we exhale, they inhale. They are half our respiratory system.”

—Jaggi Vasudev

It’s been more than three months that we last visited this scenic place and yet, I find myself stepping into this patch of green, reliving a beautiful evening, every time the pressures of life get too much! While in a pensive mood, I take refuge in happy memories, especially from our travels, as they bring a smile back to my face and, as if by magic, the weight of everyday living tends to feel less heavy, if not altogether gone!

If you closely watch this image, you will notice that the one thing that adds to the serenity of the landscape is this gorgeous old tree, under whose shade lies a bench, where probably many have come to rest or take that much-needed pause through a busy day. Their sole witness being the silent yet mighty lake Vembanad, stretching far into the horizon, well beyond the reach of our eyes!

A sight truly worth savouring and treasuring as much—won’t you agree?

This is all for now. See you on the next edition of #ThursdayTreeLove!

  1. I am a dendrophile and if it accompanies such beautiful benches… Ahhh its the place I want to be. Such serene and silent place. Can spend hours here with a book and favourite cup of tea to go along.

  2. What a lovely shot and how serene this spot must have been. Reminds me of the Kala Pathar beach in Andamans. 🙂 Thanks so much for joining with this one and looking forward to seeing you on the 13th.

  3. This is such a calming picture, Esha. Sitting by the lake, soaking in the peace and quiet of this place must feel like a balm to tired souls, isn’t it? Your words, your writing inspire me to step out of my comfort zone and work harder at my writing. Thank you, my dear!
