As the year slowly comes to a close, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and wonder in my heart for all the beautiful, quiet and nameless sky watching moments I’ve had this year.
Through the ups and the downs of life and especially along the most unpredictable roller coaster rides I’ve encountered in 2024, when tough times came one after another, Mother Nature always came to the rescue, bringing countless moments of wonder, amazement, joy and delight.
The first half of this year was an extremely rough ride for us, as a family, and there were months when I couldn’t blog at all. Thankfully, in the second half of the year, things did improve and I slowly started collecting my sky watching moments through random sky shots on my phone. So thankful and grateful that I have a nice collection from where I can now share some favourite memories with you all.

And with that, we draw the curtain for this week’s/month’s/year’s edition of #SkywatchFriday on this blog.
It’s been absolutely wonderful welcoming you all to the blog every week and sharing sky watching moments from Bangalore—where I’m presently based and from my recent travels to some absolutely gorgeous landscapes, that I was fortunate enough to visit this year! As I said earlier in a post, I truly cherish being a part of this global community of sky watchers with whom I get to connect and interact every week, no matter how far apart we happen to be, geographically!
I value this connection as I get to witness myriad shades and moods of the ever-changing sky, through your amazing photographs and hear all about your experiences, through the changing seasons of your lives. If you ask me, I should tell you that I’m equally happy and sad at the thought of stepping into the coming week (and another brand new year!), given the element of uncertainty that has come to rule our lives currently. Life is so fragile!
But, then, we could also be hopeful and optimistic, instead, as we brace up to step into the big unknown? Why let fear creep in? Or doubt and skepticism get in the way?
Maybe, there are better things waiting for us around the corner, and it’s just that we have no inkling of it yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and telling myself that we can all try and feel upbeat about the transition into better times…we can be a little hopeful, at the very least and see what comes up!
Whatever happens, I know for a fact that we will meet again in the new year, with more sky photos. It’s time to pause, reflect upon and look back on the days gone by and count our blessings and be grateful for the gift of life. Of course, as it always happens, we all will end up making old mistakes in new and different ways—but then, that’s how the circle of life goes on, right?
Signing off now. Until next week, happy sky watching, to you all and a very happy New Year! Much love, hugs and tons of positive vibes to each of you, dear readers and sky watchers!
