This week, for SkywatchFriday, it’s going to be travel shots again from our last month’s Singapore trip. We had an amazing holiday, during the much-needed break. The only thing that kept us worried was to see our teen struggle to cope with the fluctuating temperatures, between the soaring heat outside and the chilling aircon inside, which happened pretty much everywhere we went. Having lived in Bangalore, for the past ten years, we’d been unaccustomed to the heat, but A was gung-ho about it. After the initial hiccups, he seemed to manage fine. So, despite the soaring mid-day temperatures, the evenings were generally pleasant, with an occasional dip in the mercury, especially after those welcome downpours. Humidity, though, remained pretty high, but, nothing that could compare to Kolkata or Mumbai! So, we never really complained.
With so much around us to take in, we loved playing touristy, walking along the popular spots, exploring the city, trying out new food, and catching our breath every once in a while, under gorgeous blue skies. We soaked in the sights and sounds like a wet sponge and marvelled at the clean stretches all around.
Today, I thought of sharing some of my sky captures—both shot on the go, at different times and on different days.
Below, is the sky view from the petal-shaped ArtScience Museum in Marina Bay Sands, located along the Marina Bay waterfront in the heart of Singapore city.
Next up, a shot, of the sky taken from the ground, with a section of the capsules that form a part of the Giant Observation Wheels—the Singapore Flyer, supposedly the largest in the world, that promises more than just a view, but a panorama capturing Marina Bay’s skyline with a glimpse of neighbouring Malaysia and Indonesia!
As a parting shot, here is a classic slice of sky that is typically Singapore.

Singapore is on my husband’s bucket list. I told him about the ferris wheel where you can see both Malaysia and Indonesia. I think he really wants to go now.
Awww! Thats lovely to know, Alana. Singapore is beautiful and not really that big, you know! Very do-able as a weeklong trip! That giant ferris wheel was an awesome experience. I’d love to go back to Singapore any day. 🙂
Esha, every evening, when I step out for my walk, I look up at the sky and think of you and your breathtaking sky captures. How stunning the sky looks, whatever time of the day you look at it, there is something different each time, something that makes you stop in your tracks and just gaze up at the wide expanse.

I quite agree, there is a certain magic in watching the glorious range of colours at disk and dawn every day. Though I admit, it also makes one feel really small in comparison to see what a tiny place we occupy in this universe!
