I am participating in the #BarAThonEdition3 which involves alternate days of blogging from July 2nd, 2018 to July 15th, 2018, based on a theme and a prompt for the day.
I went looking,
everywhere—
through oceans,
hills and mountains bare,
bearing a myriad moods and emotions,
stumbling,
often, posing the questions.
Beyond the balance sheet
of wins, losses and misery untold
little did I know,
That, I needn’t have trudged,
to the Four Corners of the World.
What I sought,
Was with me all along—
That, all I had to do
Was to drown the voices,
quieten the soul,
And look within,
To find myself—
It was there.

Beautiful. It brought to mind the Rumi quote:
“You wander from room to room
Hunting for the diamond necklace
That is already around your neck!”
A lovely poem – well expressed the secret to the universe and life 🙂
Thanks so much, Ishieta.
Nothing helps like a bit of introspection. Very good take on the prompt, Esha
Thanks a lot, Varad. Trying to come up with something with each prompt and taking it one day at a time. Let’s see if I can continue this. 🙂
What a beautiful poetic expression this is, Esha! Profound! I’m blown away by the depth and the simplicity of this poem, Esha. Marvelous!
Thanks a ton, my friend! I love your beautiful comment. Made my day so much brighter to hear this from you today. Loved yours too! I was actually waiting to see when you would link up with your poem. Your poetry is so inspiring to me, always! <3
I love how brilliantly you’ve taken on the prompt, Esha.
And it’s so true that all our life lessons & most coveted answers lie only within our soul. That presses over the need to do enough soul-searching whenever we’re in the deepest of doubts.
Thank you so much, Ashvini. Our entire lives are a quest to solve this very question:What do we seek? I agree with you that in the midst of our deepest doubts, the answers always lie within us, and only we can find those!
Wonderful Esha. We often look for answers in all places instead of looking within.
Thanks, Akshata. You said it. 🙂
Simple yet profound Esha:) The message of the Alchemist: the treasure you seek is within you.
Thank you, Namratha. Yes, you are so spot on. It takes us a lot of heart breaks to realise the truth, though!
That is such a simple way way to express something so significant. So much creativity there. And, you’ve been blogging for 15 years now. That’s stupendous!
Thanks a lot, Neelanjana. Trying to give expression to the thoughts that go on in the inner recesses of the mind. Not sure how you came up with the number, but I’ve only been blogging for 3+ years. 🙂
I thought I saw 15 years somewhere 😀
3 years is no less!
I so wish it were! 🙂
Deep thoughts, we keep searching the world, but what we seek is always hidden in front of us.
Yes, Deepa, The answers lie within us. Thanks very much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.
Are we not like the musk deer that keeps searching for the aroma all throughout the life, never knowing that it is itself! Beautifully worded, profound thought Esha.
Thanks, Anagha. Oh yes, the musk deer is a beautiful example of that. So glad you liked it.
What a simple and profound one, Esha. Totally expected from the person you are. 🙂
Thank you so much, Parul. I’m happy I could live up to it, because I find it easy to express the thought. The challenge lies in turning it into a poetic form. 🙂
Totally agree! Never easy.
🙂
Really liked the poem, esha. That is the essence of the gita in a nutshell. Great post
Thank you very much, Meena. Yes, sometimes it is these profound lessons in life that come haunting into your subconscious mind and emerge through poetry.
How simply you explained the truth that World lies within. Loved the last two lines.
Thank you so much, Anami. I am happy to hear that you liked it.
A very profound verse, Esha. In the life’s race we completely forget to retrospect life, relax and look within to find answers and solutions.
Thank you, Rohan. You are right—we keep racing ahead without knowing who we are, when all along the answer lies in us.
Another deep thought from you Esha. You really capture your emotions very well on film, in prose and poetry.
Thank you, Sunita. So happy to have such a wonderful comment from you. Made my day. 🙂
wow.. this is splendid and powerful. Indeed when we look upon ourselves, the mystery can be unfolded. Lovely Esha
Thanks, Deepa. Happy to hear that from you. I find a lot of things seem to make sense to me when I introspect. Probably that’s why I put that into my poem.
Ah! Yes the answers alway lie within and we just have to take a little time for ourselves and look out for them❤️
Beautiful one my dear friend.

Thank you, dear Natasha. I agree with you—the onus is on us to find the answers but in the right place, of course.
Loved this. All answers lie within us, so true. Very well written.
Thank you for your lovely words, Suzy. 🙂
Beautiful and profound. I have realized this the hard way that at times the biggest strength comes from our own soul. Lovely take on the prompt.
Thank you so very much, Sonia. Life lessons come when we least expect but when they do, they leave us with so much wisdom, right?
Nice take on the prompt. True indeed. If we look deep into ourselves we will find something that cannot be found anywhere else in the entire universe.
Here is my Barathon 4th day post

Thank you so much, Jai. The answers came to me with a lot of introspection, of course. Life lessons never fail us, do they?
