“Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.”
Do you believe in making plans for the new Year? Any blueprint to guide you through the next 366 days? (Btw, 2020 is a leap year!) I know I’ve stopped making resolutions over the last few years but I’m planning a ‘to-do’ list to list out the things that have been on my mind over the last couple of years, but ones that never got done—be it the little everyday challenges that I intend to take / the phobias that need to be worked upon / the books that are waiting to be read / the journeys I’ve wanted to take—both inwards and outwards. Literally and figuratively, both!
Because they are essential to my growth and my learning. Because I’m a lifelong learner and I feel the odds and the obstacles always help me grow which I definitely wouldn’t, otherwise! And although I do not know what awaits me in the coming year, I do wish to kick start the year with a few clear intentions and that is why my ‘to-do’ list comes into the picture.
A leaf out of my diary where I’m working on my plans for 2020!
In many ways, though, I’m bracing myself for another tough year ahead, knowing that it will be no less challenging than the current one (given our circumstances). And whilst I say this, I’m reminding myself to stay calm, breathe deeply, live in the moment and take things one day at a time.
I am no clairvoyant and I cannot claim to see the future, but I do know I’ll be ready to take on life with all the curveballs and the works, as best as I possibly can. But more than that, I know I’m going to steal moments every now and then, to cherish this life, embrace whatever happiness, fun and laughter comes my way, pursue all my creative dreams and savour this life to the lees. All of this, despite the odds! No matter what life throws at me.
There’s too much at stake and I’m just not ready to throw in the towel yet! What are your plans for the coming year? Do you believe in making resolutions? Or do you go with the flow?

I want that Diary! I love it! Where can I find it? I have made a rough plan for reading challenges. Other than that I am open for any surprises that 2020 throws at me.
Oh really? Please send me your address, Jyothi. I’ll send you one. I have a few copies at home. It is from the Design Conference that we organize each year and it is lovely!
Good luck with the reading challenge!! And here’s wishing you loads of wonderful surprises for the year ahead.
Doing a bit of both- making resolutions and going with the flow.
Because I know we are all healing and when plans don’t work out the way we want them to what we feel is disappointment.
I’d made Breathe my phrase of the year, and I still notice I’m working with my breath. Sivananda yoga has helped immensely, as have my spiritual practises like Buddhism etc.
I’m looking forward to 2020. 🙂
All the very best for a supreme blessed year, of joy, calm and peace, dear Esha. Big hugs xoxo
Oh geez, I don’t really have any plans, just trying to eat better, keep losing weight and not blow my top which in holiday shopping is a real challenge. Yeah, life is one big curveball.
