Catching the First Light of the Day | #SkywatchFriday

Watching a new day unfold is one of the most hypnotic and magical experiences that we’ll ever know! Perhaps because watching the sky is something I love deeply, I’ve witnessed many such moments from the ground below, and also from 39000 feet up in the air.

I think watching a sunrise is a beautiful and inexplicable wonder of nature that one can never get enough of!

This week’s sky photo is from the time before the rainy season hit Bangalore-roughly, about two months ago.

I happened to be up rather early that day, as we had a morning flight to catch. It just so happened that one was at the right time and at the right place, while this gorgeous dawn was unfolding outside.

I had put the kettle on and casually walked into the living room, when I caught sight of the glowing ember in the eastern sky.

Instinctively, I picked my phone and took a few shots.

The tea brewed, and I watched the changing hues of dawn, until the ticking of the clock nudged me that I had to get back to finish my last minute packing before setting off for the airport.

It’s been a long time since I last watched the skyline but I guess I must get back to it sooner than later.

This image is a nudge for me to keep that time aside once more.

When I see this image, I think of the brush strokes of a landscape artist whose mastery over the medium is practically quite beyond our grasp!

Lately, a bout of weather-related allergy has been keeping me from waking up very early, but, I do miss the quietness of the unhurried mornings. I think the enchantment of those hours lie in their serenity. I’m beginning to miss that again I think!

That sense of peace and reset is totally priceless, don’t you think?

Ok, it’s time to sign off now —will be back next week again, with another sky picture and a story.

Until then, wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Love and positive vibes to everyone stopping by the blog today. If you are a sky lover like me, do share how and when you came to be one. I’d love to hear your story today!

  1. That’s a gorgeous click.
No matter how many times I watch the sun rise, I never tire of it. I’m not a very morning person and given a chance I love to laze in bed. Despite that I am often up early and I do enjoy watching the sun rise. Hope you feel better soon Esha.
