A Balmy Blue Sky Day in Osaka

A Throwback to a beautiful morning in Osaka, in the April of 2019, when the world was a different place and exactly a year before the pandemic was to hit us all. The trip was a dream come true for me, in more ways than one, as Japan had been on my bucket list for the longest time and now, looking back, it seems that fate had ordained that trip for me because, come 2020, everything changed and travel became the first casualty the world over. As i type this post, I find it hard to even imagine now how travel used to be in the pre-pandemic era.

For today’s #SkywatchFriday, I’m sharing two photos from our Osaka trip today, that gives a glimpse of that beautiful morning, as we were about to enter the magnificent seven-storied Osaka Castle, considered to be one of Japan’s most famous landmarks, as well as emblem of power and fortune.

View from the walkway: The balmy blue sky framed by the swaying lithe branches of the Sakura blossoms.
The path leading to the Castle gates, flanked by the park on one side and cherry blossoms on the other.

That’s all for today. Will be back next week with more sky pictures. Until then, have a lovely weekend and take care!

  1. Beautiful photographs! Japan’s been on my travel bucket list since a very long time. I really hope travel opens up again soon — there are a few places that I would dearly love to visit!
