Who doesn’t love those free-swimming, gelatinous marine beauties with a pulsating bell-shaped body and trailing tentacles?
Sharing a few fun facts about these wondrous creatures, this week (not going wordless at all, I know, I know!) 😉
Did you know that the Jellyfish is about 98 percent water, which explains why they virtually disappear when they wash up on a beach and dry out in the sun?
Another interesting fact about them is how the colour of some jellyfish is affected by their diet. For example, eating a lot of larval crustaceans can make the moon jellyfish pink or purple.
Imagine, if that ever happened to humans? Just a thought! 😀

Stunning creature! Well taken.
Thank you Indrani! Glad to see you stop by the blog. 🙂
very nice informative post
Amazing picture. I would love to turn pink actually 🙂
Hehe…that’s a lovely colour, no?
Beautiful they look! I have a similar shot but of different color which i captured at Siam Ocean World in Bangkok.
Thanks, Keerthi! I can imagine that! They are so lustrous in light, and the way they keep moving so easily almost gliding through water.
Wow! Mesmerizing creatures they are. I didn’t know the facts you shared about jelly fish, Esha. If humans had the property of changing color according to the food eaten, then maybe, we would have eaten better. 😀
So pretty, aren’t they? I couldn’t resist not capturing them when I saw these beauties!
Oh wow! I’m super curious about how you got this shot, Esha. It’s brilliant.
Thank you so much, Corinne! Singapore Zoo is an amazing place and I must have taken almost a hundred shots of all sorts of creatures (except the creepy crawlies, of course!) These creatures are such a delight to watch, believe me!
Nice info Di..am back in WW after ages..glad to be back.
Thanks dear, Tina! Welcome back 🙂
Whoa! That must make them look amazing, considering they don’t eat like us humans! 😛
Thank god we don’t share this feature with the jelly fish!
Great shot, Esha!
Thanks a lot, Shilpa. Amazing creatures, no?
Wow ! This is beautiful in a surreal kind of way… floating magic
Thank you so much, Sunita. Such beauties, aren’t they?
