Does it ever happen to you that a seemingly random event also seems strangely meaningful, or even miraculous? It could be as simple as anticipating a phone call, or as dramatic as rekindling a lost love. Perhaps, you’ve experienced something more significant than what you could imagine. Yes, It could possibly be nothing less than a tiny miracle – possibly the work of higher powers, or a message from above, who knows?
It is Day 2 of the Write Tribe Festival of Words and today, I’m bringing you a flash fiction.
MIRACLE
The little girl, working at the tea-stall, looked up. It was the announcement on the loudspeaker.
“Was someone calling out the names of missing children?” —she wondered.
There were frantic parents, desperate to find their little ones. As if by chance, a faint glimmer of hope arose within her.
“What if my parents actually came looking for me, someday? What if they really did?”
Her head refused, but her heart pleaded, for just one miracle.

Oh, this is heartbreaking. Poor little girl! I hope her prayer is answered with exactly the miracle she is looking for. <3
Thanks a lot, Vinitha. Let’s hope so.
Hope springs eternal in the heart
So true, Sunita. Indeed, so.
I was once at a river ghat for a festival. There was an announcement for a lost 3 year old girl. The parents were frantic. I was so affected by this. I could really feel the emotion of the mother and father that day. The little girl in your story took me back to that day. I do really hope both that girl and the little one in your story got their parents back. Touching story Esha!
Oh dear! Can imagine what you felt like. Let’s hope the little girl finds her family and they get reunited again. It is heartbreaking isn’t it?
Yes, indeed it is!

Sometimes we don’t get what we seek out, but when a miracle happens we realize that what we’re blessed with is far greater than what we sought out. May such miracles happen in lovely people’s lives!
