I’m participating in the #AtoZ April Blogging Challenge 2025 and this will be my third year of joining the vibrant community that loves this one-of-a-kind creative challenge.
This year, my theme is—BOOKS THAT CHANGED MY LIFE—which means they are not just my favourite books, but they’ve also left a deep and lasting impact on me and continue to do so until this day. If you are stopping by this blog for the first time, please do leave your blog link, I’ll be happy to visit yours too. 🙂

Fitness On the Go by Abhishek Sharma

A book on fitness bought from a Lit Fest! Well, yes, strange but true. This was the one. It was one of the first books I bought on a fluke, thinking it was going to be my one stop solution, which, it was not.
However, very interestingly enough, this was the book that turned out to be the one that eventually got me started on my fitness journey, having arrived at the stage when niggling aches and pains started getting all too frequent. It was high time to start working on building stamina, flexibility and strength, and Abhishek’s own training as a martial artist, athlete and exponent of classical yoga and his fitness philosophy seemed credible enough for me to easily buy into the whole idea of getting into a holistic workout programme!
What I loved best about it was how Abhishek advises us to first evaluate our current fitness levels, by suggesting a few exercises that can be done at home. Based on that, he recommends the next steps to start building our fitness levels. All the exercises can be done at home if needed and there is no necessity to hit the gym—which, is a great thing for beginners looking into creating a fitness routine first and then gradually building upon it.
With simple and easy to follow instructions, the book was just what I needed at the time, and I am so grateful today for the little steps that I began to take, based on the advice given in the book, that made me conscious of my water intakes, pushed me to stop sugar and all processed foods, stop drinking aerated drinks, eat balanced meals and to breathe and relax when it all got too much.
The book is basically for beginners, keen to start their fitness journey but don’t know where to start from. It is an easy and light read that will help them to build in a fitness schedule in their busy daily routine. There are no preachy tones anywhere in the book.
They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. That single step, in my case, came from following this book, and every single lesson I’ve gathered from the book has only brought me closer to my larger health goals in the long run.

Fitness should be our top most priority always. Glad to have read about this book, Esha.
What a wonderful theme! I might have to steal this idea for another year. @samanthabwriter from Balancing Act
