This one is from our trip to the Jvari monastery in the Mtskheta region of Georgia.
As we climbed down the slopes after a tour of the monastery, we found ourselves surrounded by gentle rolling green vistas all around. The light of the setting sun was beautiful and my eyes lit up on catching a glimpse of this gorgeous tree against a pristine blue sky with white clouds that looked straight out of a picture postcard.
I flipped out my phone and an unspeakable rush of joy enveloped me as I captured the sight!
Days later, when I was back home and viewing my gallery, this image stood out. I kept going back to this day again and again.
On a busy day, with tourists thronging the area and a wedding entourage that was making its way out, getting to capture this solitary tree against the blue sky was quite a challenge. But, so glad that I persisted and did grab quite a few good shots.
Would love to know what you think of the images.

And here goes one of the Jvari Monastery itself.

That’s all for this week’s edition of #SkywatchFriday.
Will be back next week with more sky photos.
Until then, take care and have a relaxed weekend. Much love to you all!

I have always loved your photographs, Esha. I think, you could moonlight as a nature photographer (if time permitted) 🙂
Hehe…thanks so much, Shilpa! Your words of appreciation totally made my day! 🙂
What a glorious view! The lonely tree set in the sky background, the clouds, surrounded by the little purple wildflowers and the greenery… it’s simply breathtaking! ❤️
It is! So happy that this resonates with you because I know you are as much a nature-lover as I am! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your wonderful thoughts, Vinitha. I’m sure had you been here, you’d easily have spun a beautiful poem out of this whole experience. 🙂
Wow, that’s a stunning sky shot! The blue sky and the tree make a beautiful combination.
Thank you so much, Shiju. Glad to hear that. 🙂
I’m fascinated with those wild flowers, Esha. What are they?
Yes, they did look absolutely stunning and had a lovely sheen coming from the reflections of the sunlight. Not sure what they’re called but the valleys were full of these – bunches of violet flowers everywhere.
Your photos are indeed beautiful!!
Thank you so much, Alan! So glad you like them. 🙂
Esha, that one lonely tree with blue sky as background makes my heart feel joyful. Thank you for that experience. I used to go take pictures of a solitary tree on a farm on the way to do grocery shopping. One day the farmer cut it down. I still look for that tree which is no longer there but in my heart it still is.
Thank you so much for sharing such a memory so close to your heart, Jim! I can only imagine how you felt when it was gone. I guess some of us have these little nameless moments that we hold very closely within us. Last year, when I used to go to my Accupuncturist, I’d see this beautiful old tree next door adjacent to the clinic and while on my way out, would watch it lovingly. I had even taken a few pictures of it. About three weeks back, when I resumed my sessions with the Accupuncturist again, I was shocked to see it gone. Just like that, it was gone. Felt very sad!! I can totally relate to how you still feel about it.
Your sky photos are awesome ~ creative eye for nature”s gifts, thanks,

That first photo has a sky so perfect in its blue and white clouds
Thank you! Yes, it’s one of those views that everyone seems to find very pretty. And Georgia is a beautiful country… blessed with natural beauty in abundance. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts here on the blog.
Beautiful landscape and clouds in the first photo especially 🙂
Thanks for visiting my Skywatch post.
Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Everyone loves that photo… 🙂
…Esha, I love your blues skies. Living here near the Great Lakes, blue skies can be rare in winter. Yesterday after a long absence, blue skies returned. Be well.
Thank you Tom! So glad you liked my blue sky photo. Long absences from bright sunny days can be very tough… I can so relate to your happiness now that you’ve had one after a long time. Enjoy them while they last. Happy sky watching!! 😊
