Actually true. If we know the fate of a particular situation, we would behave accordingly, whether good or bad. If only we knew!
Some things can never be predicted. So yes, no matter how prepared we are, there is always a possibility of things not going our way. But that doesn’t mean, we don’t do anything. Risks have to be taken. But yes, sometimes it is good to evaluate whether it is worth taking the risk. Beautiful image and interesting thoughts.

And, speaking of that life, risk-taking is a big part of it, as I have been a nomad for sixteen years, never knowing what the next day will bring. 🙂

It is true though. Not knowing actually helps sometimes, if one is not consumed by the fear of uncertainty. Ahh human emotions are so complicated. 😊

My answer would be when one feels compelled to take on a journey. This urge would be enough to take on the risks.
When should we take risks? When we set out to accomplishing our dreams, especially when we have no inkling about what our dreams really hold within them. Like, when I set about blogging seriously, I had no idea what all I would have to try out before I found what appealed to ME, as opposed to what was promoted by other bloggers from my niche. I hope I am making some sense here. 🙂

Apparently, it’s a bit of a mystery. For a while, I think the owner imagined it to be a “fixer-upper” project. The boat’s been in danger of being scrapped, but local photographers “saved” it. In 2017, there was a fire that badly damaged it (more than it already was), but it’s still there.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained

When should you take that risk you say? Yes my friend, but isn’t “LIFE” a risk? When we wake up we risk getting outta bed especially with this day & age with all this hullabaloo going on with politics it’s like someone opened the gates of hell & let the devils out. You put the news on & somebody got killed, beat up or kidnapped. It’s a sad day & age that we live in. I personally believe that good will prevail. hugssssssss

All existence is some sort of risk, I think.
That’s a great quote by Dan Rather. And the photo serves as a warning shot but I have to wonder how many times did the boat sail successfully before falling apart. I do hope they made it to shore. I think journeys create new paths and I would go because you never know where you would end up. And yes, you may get hurt or even die but that could happen crossing the street at home too. You never know what may happen anywhere you are.

Every day, we take risks. I leave the house sometimes with ice and slippery snow on the ground. I cross the street and could be hit by a car. Risks are everywhere, yet the common ones we ignore. I tend to be too conservative when taking the “big” risks.

I think one needs to weigh his/her options wisely. True life is a risk but when risk could result in injury is it worth it? I guess it depends on the circumstances one faces. Bungee jumping definitely isn’t something worth taking the risk to do but jumping from a burning building, if that’s the only way out, is worth the risk. Thanks for hosting the WW fun!
Life, inherently, is a risk. How you approach risk taking depends on the situation, I think. Sometimes, we take calculated risks. At others, we leap without looking. And sometimes, even deciding not to risk it, is a risk itself!
Every day, every journey has a potential risk. When is necessary, when we have a dear cause, we don’t think at the risk, when the others depend on us. The limits are created by our minds. And I think we act or we stop depending on them.
So… we have to learn every day to THINK WELL!

It is all subjective. No fixed answers. I guess all of us assess situation differently. What is good for me me, may not suit you and vice versa!

I believe life is about taking risks. And that thought probably stems from the fact that I have a streak of adventure and believe in risk taking.
Without taking a chance/risk we never know where we will end. Challenges may pop up galore, the boat may get damaged, the waters may be turbulent, but it is taking that leap of faith, knowing things may never work out, yet being assured ‘something’s gotta give”. That is were life may take a turn for the better or worse. But we will be assured knowing we atlas tried. :))

I think nobody wants to take risks willingly. It is when we are left with no other options do we actually take a risky decision. In my opinion, its always best not be able to predict the future. Right?
Risks should only be taken when you are ready to face failure. If you do things with a guarantee of of success, where’s the risk in that? Loved the old boat.Who knows, it may have just reached the end of its serviceability and it really washed ashore as a wreck.
I’ve got to agree with Dan Rather there and voice a resounding, “No.” Nice quote and wonderful shot, I love old boats.
