Under the Starry Skies – #FridayFictioneers

Friday Fictioneers is a weekly challenge set by the lovely Rochelle Wisoff Fields to write a #100wordstory in response to a photo prompt. This week’s photo prompt is by Jan Wayne Fields.

It was the moment they both waited for. Shy and reticent, Arin broke the silence first:

“So…?”

Meera couldn’t believe she was miles away from home, sitting under a thousand stars, with a stranger, who was now her husband.

Impossible“— she muttered under her breath, angry at herself for accepting the proposal. She had to tell him everything and leave.

Just this night, and then — ”

She thought he would understand.

And, guess what? He did.

But, by morning, something changed—her hundred reasons to leave were replaced by her one good reason to stay.

Perhaps, they were meant to be.
