Friday Fictioneers is a weekly challenge set by the lovely Rochelle Wisoff Fields to write a #100wordstory in response to a photo prompt. This week’s photo prompt is by Jan Wayne Fields.
It was the moment they both waited for. Shy and reticent, Arin broke the silence first:
“So…?”
Meera couldn’t believe she was miles away from home, sitting under a thousand stars, with a stranger, who was now her husband.
“Impossible“— she muttered under her breath, angry at herself for accepting the proposal. She had to tell him everything and leave.
“Just this night, and then — ”
She thought he would understand.
And, guess what? He did.
But, by morning, something changed—her hundred reasons to leave were replaced by her one good reason to stay.
Perhaps, they were meant to be.

He must be one helluva lover! 😉
Let’s hope it is a great start!
Hmm… you have a very valid point there! I cannot disagree at all. 😀
😁
One good reason to stay – that’s such a lovely way of putting it. I’m sure they are both glad she stayed. Lovely story, Esha.
Yes, am sure they are glad she stayed that day
Thank you so much for your kind words. 🙂
It only takes one good reason to stay. I really enjoyed this!
Thank you so much, Amie! One reason can be good enough!
Yes it can!
Sometimes things change in a blink. You showed that very well through your story.
Thank you Alicia. You’re right. It is something that’s happened to me.
Not the incident but the change I mean! 🙂
Dear Esha,
Nice that she found a good reason to stay. Hope it’s a long and happy union. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you so much Rochelle. Your words mean a lot to me. 🙂
Beautiful Esha. The way you toggle with words and twist them to make it such an endearing story.
Thanks Vishal for your very encouraging words. I’m trying my hand at fiction…still very new and raw! 🙏🏼😀
You’ve woven in a spectacular manner that makes it so relatable 🙂
Awww! You’re so kind dear Vishal! I’m honoured. 🙏🏼
I very much enjoyed your take on this weeks picture.
Thank you very much!
The path less trod is the path paved in fulfilment and happiness.
Absolutely, no matter how difficult …
Like the way the past and present mingle, as if they are one, much like this loving couple.
Thank you for your appreciation, Kelvin. Attempted to portray life which often takes us along that path unbeknownst to us!
And you did a very good job!
Thank you very much for your kind words Alicia:)
