“It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine.”

—A. A.Milne

I seem to agree with that quote actually. And I would also include one more thing that I keep looking for—trees.

The image that I’m sharing today was taken on the day we were travelling from Fort Kochi to Kumarakom. As we were approaching the lake Vembanad, and were about half an hour away from our resort, I noticed these trees by the roadside—they grew on a tiny stretch of land overlooking the lake.

I think they added something magical to the scene, because they looked very pretty against the blue skies. The water glistened like a million diamonds ready to dazzle, while the mid-day sun fell on its’ surface. The sight was divinely beautiful!

In an instant, I flipped out my phone to grab a quick shot from our moving car. That moment, I realised just how much I had been missing the laid back pace of a much-needed holiday, after being holed up at home for four long years! I was visiting the place after nearly sevn years. So much has changed in our lives since then, but, the sight of the lake filled me with a sense of joy that I had long forgotten.

I felt like asking the driver to stop right there, step out of the car and just breathe in the fresh air. It felt absolutely wonderful to be in the moment, not worry about the coming days or fret over the days gone by. It was enough to be present. To be alive. To breathe. To live.

I did nothing of that, though! We drove past, while I saved this image in my phone gallery. Little moments of life, I guess, that we savour for a long time!

Well, this is all for today.

See you in two weeks, with another edition of my tree photos.

Until then, take care and goodbye.
