Twilight on the Beach

When the day bids adieu
Whispering a silent goodbye
And twilight emerges from the sea
Embracing the earth in a warm embrace,
I watch the softness of the hills
Gently folding itself
Fading from sight
Until only the lights remain.

Hello hello… it’s been a long long time. I’m doing the AtoZ challenge in the other blog so that has kept me busy. But, then it’s Friday today and I wanted to jump in with something special to share with you all.

So, here’s a free verse to complement this beautiful evening scene clicked in Phuket on our last holiday in December 2025.

We were having a leisurely stroll on the property beach, where we were staying and we saw this glorious evening sky slowly merging into the folds of the vast sky. It was awe-inspiring….the sheer beauty and the grandeur of Mother Nature at her best. After a bit of walking, we sat down on a bench. I scribbled a few lines on my journal that evening. A free verse that summed up how I felt.

There was something almost balm-like in that softness of the day closing and fading away. We watched the changing skyline, until it turned completely dark and except for the lights, and the reflection on the water, nothing was visible any more. It was a cloudy evening so I think that added to the magic, a little more!
