It was one of those busy mornings when one struggles to push past things in order to get to work on time.
Arjo, watching me intently, for long, suddenly walked up to me.
“Mamma, it won’t happen again. I promise!” I felt his little fingers around my neck and a tight hug from behind.
“You always say, if it doesn’t matter in five years, don’t spend even five minutes being upset over it.”
Saying this, he put out two slices of bread on the chopping board, cutting out a heart-shaped smiley from one of them.
A proud mother smiled.

It feels heart warming when kids learn from mistakes how small or big those mistakes might be! Once when my nephew threw away plastic wrapper right were he was sitting in a park. I loving tried to explain him how we do not throw away stuff at home and same applies when we are out as well. He understood what i tried to tell him and with a cute sorry picked up the plastic wrapper and dropped it in a dustbin near by. I felt over joyed that day. This post indeed brought back a loving memory! 🙂
Thanks so much, Keerthi. You’re right, there are times when kids listen to what we say and make it seem so simple that we feel we had been so mad at them for such trivial matters. My kid teaches me patience in ways that I would never have known otherwise. Glad for these moments.

You are so right, Alice. They do walk all over us and they also teach us things that we would never do otherwise. Life is made up of these trivial moments that add up to make the bigger picture someday.
