Gently Comes the Dawn #Skywatch

“With a bound, the sun of a molten fiery red came above the horizon, and immediately thousands of little birds sang out for joy, and a soft chorus of mysterious, glad murmurs came forth from the earth; the low whispering wind left its’ hiding-place among the clefts and hollows of the hills, and wandered among the rustling herbs and trees, waking the flower-buds to the life of another day.”
― Elizabeth Gaskell

The magic of sunrise couldn’t have been better felt. What a beautiful moment to witness it at the early hours of the day! Those minutes of transition from darkness to light happens so gradually and yet so magically that no matter how blase one might have been about it, one couldn’t have remained untouched.

Sharing today a set of shots taken just before and during sunrise this week. I’m usually up before the first streak of light returns to the horizon, and watching the spectacle of dawn breaking happens in between my morning chores. The pitch dark sky begins to gradually give way to a gentle glow just before the sun begins to appear on the Eastern edge. There is a certain brilliance in the sky with a layer of iridescent red that finally brings in the dawn.

Morning comes with the Sun and spreads a layer of warmth and light colouring the Earth. The fact that it has been happening this way for millions of years does not make the spectacle any less special.

That’s it, for Skywatch this week. Are you joining in with your sky captures too? If you do, do not forget to leave your link behind, so I can visit you as well.

Happy weekend, folks! See you next week.
