One of the joys of travelling to unfamiliar places and seeing new things is to understand how people live in the different parts of the world and to appreciate them for who they are and why they do what they do. It wisens us up to “see” what we don’t otherwise notice. As Proust says,
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in seeing with new eyes.

Sharing today, a capture of an unusual tree that I encountered in Singapore. I do not know the name but thought it has a unique shape and would, I assume, make a great subject for a sketch, (which I hope to do someday!).

That’s a beautiful green tree and sure unsual shape. Have you seen Angela’s post – there is some resemblance. May be the similarity is Asian soil and difference is the geography? Thank you for joining!

Absolutely unusual trunk shape! Its seems to be covered with moss or some type of orchids! Thanks for sharing this unique tree!

Imagine how ordinary it would have been if it had not been oddly shaped? Sometimes odd things stay in our minds more than perfectly shaped ones….

That is an unusual shape in my experience – loved seeing how the limbs spiraled around. Of course I have no idea what that tree is, but it was a lovely capture.
Exactly my thoughts, Alana. Here, in India, we’ve had hundreds of different kinds of trees but never seen one like that. It’s a shame my shot couldn’t get a better capture of the other similar ones so I could give you all what the place really looked like. Oh, did I tell you I got that shot while waiting to cross the street so only as long as the lights permitted me to stand and watch!

Oh yes! Trees bear untold stories within them. We need to stop by and connect with them as kindred spirits to listen. Sadly, so few of us have the time to do so!!
