The Golden Hour

Isn’t it a mystery

how day meets night,

always in transit?

Not once, but twice.

Coming together,

 though forever apart.

Morning light on the Hulimavu lake, Bangalore

I’m usually blessed to start my day with this gorgeous view whenever we get to see a golden sunrise, which usually throws a dazzling reflection on the lake Hulimavu, that faces our apartment building. Lately, though, we haven’t seen the sun and I mean it’s been weeks now that we’ve been waking up to a perpetual grey, that seems to last all day!

Yes, I do realise that we need the rain, but can we please have a little sunshine too?

So much greyness is permeating into my soul, that I’m done with being pensive and gloomy all the time. For now, I’m hanging on to a glimmer of hope for a bright sunny morning coming our way soon. That’s it for now. See you next Friday.

Until then, wishing you all a lovely relaxed weekend ahead. Stay safe and take care.

  1. Oh I love the rain, specially now that we aren’t stepping out much. When I wake up to dark cloudy skies, a cool breeze and raindrops and sit with my morning cup of tea, it’s the happiest part of my day. God, I think needs to strike a balance between what you want and what I want :-).

    1. Haha…love that last line, Tulika! 😀
I guess too much or too little of anything always leaves us dissatisfied, right?
So lovely to see you stop by the blog, Tulika.

    1. Counting my blessings and being grateful, Corinne. Sunshine is still elusive but we’re getting a break from those seemingly endless greys, which is definitely better!! 🙂

  2. Such a beautiful shot, Esha! We too have usually grey skies these days. But I am happy that we are getting the rains we so need. The sunshine will come some day, soon. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Peter. So glad you enjoy the golden hour as much as I do!
      Happy weekend, btw. 🙂

    1. Thank you for the words of hope. We’re still waiting though, and it’s mid-August now. 🙂

  3. Absolutely beautiful Esha in the way you paint the myriad image and emotions in the poetry and expression. A sheer delight always.

    1. Absolutely, Arvind. The greys have been here for so long this year that they’ve driven us all to desperation.
