So good to be back to posting for #SkywatchFriday after what seems like ages!
Today, I’m in the mood for reflections and thought of sharing a slice of the beautiful South African sky, that we were blessed to experience during our stay at the beautifully laid out De Denne Country Guest House, in the spring of 2018.
As we were on a road trip along the garden route, this was a much-needed stop-over for us after a long and tiring journey. As we rested our tired feet that evening, we were totally bowled over by the tranquillity and the spectacular views of the surrounding farmlands and majestic mountains, that kept us company, while we savoured our evening tea and sandwiches. The evening light stayed for a lot longer than we had anticipated and we ended up with quite a few sky captures, much to our delight.
Later in the evening, when we went for dinner, we had a tour guide who regaled us with local stories, which was followed by a session in the outdoors, watching and getting to know the Southern sky— with a galaxy of stars gleaming against a pitch-black night sky. It truly felt surreal, almost as if it were a dream.
The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, we spent some time on the Ostrich farm before heading onwards on our trip, carrying plenty of cherished memories and soul-touching moments to reminisce later.
