When nothing seems to work
And life becomes a drag
pushing me over to the brink,
I seek solace in you.
You numb my pain,
Gently pulling me away,
From hurting any further.
You let me be, just as I am.
Moments later, as it were,
as if by magic—my head is cleared,
the pain that gnawed, almost gone,
I’m back to where I started from.
In moments like these, I wonder,
Of the power, you hold over me
How you never fail to work your magic,
When words have ceased to be.
The prompt for the week is ‘Music’.
