Losing Trust | #Writebravely

On Day 6 of the Write Tribe Festival of Words 2019, it is going to be a poem in the Japanese Haiku format— that I have been exploring for a while now. A haiku is traditionally a Japanese poem that some say originates as back as far as the 9th century.

A haiku is also a way of looking at an event or a situation or even the physical world around us in a way that is more profound and deep, with the aim of leaving the reader with a strong feeling or impression.  Do let me know what you think of my poem, below.

Losing Trust

********

It wasn’t your lie
That shattered my heart today
But losing my trust.
******
Love grows in faith
watered and nurtured by time
Fragile, gentle, pure.
*******
Now, all you’ll see
Buried six feet underground
Love. Lost. Forever.

  1. I love haiku and I loved all 3 of yours. Was hard to pick a favourite, but I think the 2nd one spoke to me the most probably because it had a soft gentle feel to it.
